‘’House and A Dog''
After studying her craft at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, cutting her teeth for nearly a decade as a songwriter in Nashville, and experiencing as the first Canadian to compete on NBC's The Voice (2016), Brittany Kennell, from Beaconsfield, QC, showcases what she has learned by answering the questions she and a lot of women dread. ‘’As a single woman in her thirties, I can tell you how frustrating it is to constantly be asked why I’m not married or when I will settle down. At some point, after explaining it so many times, you start asking YOURSELF these questions, regardless of what you’ve achieved; degrees, promotions, awards, etc. Well, my answer now (if I even choose to answer at all) is, “it’s gonna be a house and a dog for now!”
Brittany Kennell's “House and A Dog” is the perfect uplifting anthem that celebrates accomplishing your own goals and having your own voice no matter what others are doing. Co-written with Nathan Meckel, “House and A Dog” was produced by award-winning Canadian producer Danick Dupelle, who worked hard to keep true to Kennell’s vintage rock roots while still pushing the envelope in a commercial country.
‘’Brittany Kennell is that dark horse and a definite artist to watch,'' says Kim Cyr, Editor in Chief for NOW and THEN Magazine, radio host, and host of the International Music's Journey Show. ‘’She is a very talented singer-songwriter that should be on everyone's radar. We are going to be hearing much more from this songstress with vocals that you can listen to for days.''
‘’I had the chance to catch up with Brittany as she prepares for her upcoming sophomore album, Pink Collar, due out later this summer. Kennell has a ton of shows that have already been announced including the Cavendish Beach Music Festival with much more to come.''
