Hosted by Kim Cyr
Presented by NOW and THEN Magazine
''In my opinion, Andrew Hyatt has just solidified top spot in country music with his new single ''NEVERLAND''. I absolutely love this song! This EP is so solid and really shows Andrew's growth as an artist. This is his best work yet.'' Kim Cyr, NOW and THEN Magazine and Music's Journey Podcast, Toronto.
The story in this beautifully crafted recording is about how the character feels shooting for his dreams and failing is better than doing nothing at all. As the lyrics say, "I don't want to be another coulda-shoulda-been. I want to be the one who gave it all he had". Your listeners will be drawn in by Andrew’s sincere tone and magical delivery. NEVERLAND is also the title of Andrew’s new EP released on October 30th, 2020.
Named an “Artist To Watch” by Entertainment Tonight Canada, 2018 SiriusXM Top of the Country and CMAO Rising Star winner, Andrew Hyatt, is celebrating the release of his latest single “I Needed That”, which amassed over 20k streams in its first week of release. Coming on the heels of Top 15 radio hit “Didn’t Know Me” (garnering 1.8 Million streams) and previous back to back top 10’s “On Me” and “Do It With You”, “I Needed That” is the second release from Hyatt’s brand new EP Neverland. The Sudbury native has kept busy playing some of Canada’s favorites festivals and touring with artists such as Dallas Smith, Dean Brody, and Tim Hicks. Most recently, Hyatt was a presenter during the 2019 CCMA Awards national broadcast and is now gearing up to hit the road with Gord Bamford, Jess Moskaluke, and more on the #Rednek MusicFest Tour COVID hit.
''There is rarely a time that I am at a loss for words when I hear an EP for review. Andrew Hyatt released his much-anticipated EP ''Neverland'' and all I could say as I was listening to it was WOW!! Talk about striking while the iron is hot from start to finish. Neverland is full of heart, vulnerability, and emotion right through every song on this EP", says Kim Cyr, Editor in Chief for NOW and THEN Magazine.
Hyatt has got a lot of traction in 2020 thanks to "Didn't Know Me" which should be a radio staple well into 2021 and beyond. But it wouldn't be a shock if "Get Away With Anything" has the same staying power as "Didn't Know Me." Here he has a well-crafted song he hits out of the park. If you didn't know Hyatt yet, you will.
Andrew Hyatt does emotion as well as anyone in the genre. When he starts laying out his feelings, it never feels like he’s heavy on them. You instantly connect with the lyrics that build up hitting you hard in the heart. . He is right on target with this EP. You can see Hyatt playing these songs on the bigger stage at concerts and festivals with fans eating up every word or he could play it completely stripped-down in an acoustic set. He could pull it all off with this EP.
Neverland‘s collection of songs also feels like it’s telling the story of Andrew Hyatt continuing his journey in life, not just music. These are story songs that seem to fit the narrative of a man moving onto the next phase of his life, through grace and good fortune and all that go with it.
Andrew Hyatt’s vocal performances, the instrumentation, and the content of the songs on this EP all shine. From rock vibe guitars with the undeniably country tone to the imagery of a sad man drinking and smoking in his truck, to emotive and clear lyrical delivery, it’s all here.
It feels and shares and when it gets just a little more intense and hard-hitting on that last track, it’s a reminder of those sweaty nights we’ve had watching him in packed bars on small stages with a full band.
And when we get that again we’ll all be able to look at each other and say, I needed that.
Andrew Hyatt's Neverland is one of those EP's that should be on everyone's playlist. Don't forget fans, this is a perfect stocking stuffer for the early shoppers. NEVERLAND would be a perfect gift that anyone would love. I mean LOVE!
