Pop Duo ''VIA BARCELONIA'' Set To Release Their Debut Album Oct 9th!
''Wonderland''
BC based pop duo Via Barcelonia releasing their debut album Wonderland on October 9 via all streaming platforms. Wonderland is an intriguing mix of songs about life’s ups and downs, focusing on relationships, breakups, finding yourself, adventuring, and so much more.
“We really wanted to create an album that we'd be stoked to listen to, a collection of songs that bring you up and down on a cool journey. This album feels more refined as we set out to better merge the soundscapes of pop/folk songwriting with some world music inspiration,” said Andrew Allen.
Comprised of Platinum-selling, international recording artist Andrew Allen and percussionist, vocalist, and producer Taylor McKnight, Via Barcelonia sets out to create pop-influenced world music with a nod to the music of the past and a leap into the music of the future. The duo released their debut single “Just Wanna Dance” in 2018 which reached over 40,000 streams in the first week. Following the success of their hit single, they released their debut EP in 2019, earning them a FACTOR grant for their upcoming EP release.
Via Barcelonia has headlined for events including the Richmond World Music Festival, Parks Alive, Harmony Arts Festival, BX Press Cidery, Metabridge Teach Event, and Sun FM Boat Cruise, and have co-written songs with multi-platinum songwriters and productions by JUNO award-winning producers.
The Vernon-raised pop star—who has made a name for himself collaborating with the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen and Cody Simpson—performed with Via Barcelonia at the BX Press Cidery and Orchard on July 26, 2019.
The 8-track album Wonderland is a catchy collection of songs that exemplifies the duos successful ability to merge the sounds of time with the sonics of the world.
Emerging Canadian pop duo Via Barcelonia are back with a new video for their track “Somebody”.
Filmed in Kelowna, B.C., and shot by Lee Watkins, the video is inspired by the Paul Simon “Call Me Al” video.
“We wrote the song in a way that it almost speaks to us,” says the band. “Challenging ourselves to recognize the importance of relationships over perfection and over goals…the video, shot in a quirky and fun ‘one shot’ kind of way, demonstrates Taylor looking to have fun which initially challenges Andrew who’s trying to get it ‘perfect’.”

Canadian based pop duo Via Barcelonia, release the music video for their new single “Lost and Found”. Written and filmed in LA before COVID, the video is simple yet stunning – the duo really wanted to focus to be on the lyrics and the simplicity of an acoustic sound. “We wrote the song in thinking of the many things you lose and find through life, and the challenges and beauty it presents,” said Andrew Allen.
