ON THE CANADIAN COUNTRY CHARTS
TORONTO, ON (February 5, 2021) — Canada’s MacKenzie Porter has released the official video for her chart-climbing current single “Drinkin’ Songs.” A time-traveling trip through the decades, the video was directed by Justin Clough and shot in Nashville, TN, and shows Porter dating one dud after another time after time, with each love interest throughout the iconic eras becoming “just another one of (her) drinkin’ songs.” Sealed with a martini and an intoxicating hook, “Drinkin’ Songs” delivers with “impressive vocal chops” (Calgary Herald) that have fans “instantly obsessed” (Whiskey Riff).

This release comes after a long list of incredible achievements for Porter in Canada. She notched her third back-to-back #1 single in Canada (“Seeing Other People”), was the #1 Most Played Canadian artist on Canadian Country radio (Mediabase CA 2020 Big Picture chart), and had the #1 Most Played Canadian Country song (“These Days”) as per Billboard Canada’s 2020 Year-End chart.
Last year also saw her crossover hit “These Days (Remix)” hit Top 10 at all 3 Canadian pop formats and hold at #1 for 4 weeks on the Billboard All-Format Canadian Top 50. Porter is the first Canadian country artist since Shania Twain to earn a crossover Top 10 at Pop radio.
Porter wrapped 2020 with the release of Drinkin’ Songs: The Collection, a 7-song assembly of over two years’ worth of new music that wrapped up a breakout chapter in anticipation of what’s next. This year, Porter will deliver more new music produced by Joey Moi, featuring her “girl-next-door vocals” that “cut like a blade” (Billboard).
With Nashville taking notice of her “authentic heart” (American Songwriter) as well as “her mesmerizing vocals and hook-driven songs” (Billboard), Porter was just inducted into CMT’s Next Women of Country Class of 2021, joining an elite sisterhood of trailblazers and tastemakers. Watch Porter take the stage performing “These Days” for their announcement celebration here.

ABOUT MACKENZIE PORTER:
Singer-songwriter MacKenzie Porter is a rising Country talent whose sound knows no borders. Signed to Big Loud Records, Porter is surging now with DRINKIN’ SONGS: THE COLLECTION, an arsenal of two years’ worth of new music produced by Joey Moi. Since moving to Nashville in 2014 from her native Canada, she’s developed a radiant Country style which threads the needle between traditional heart and modern energy, often collaborating with songwriting mainstays like Nicolle Galyon, Craig Wiseman, Natalie Hemby, and Tommy English. Her "mesmerizing vocals and hook-driven songs" (Billboard) have sparked a list of headline-worthy accolades, including multiple Canadian Country Music Award nominations — 4X Female Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Fans' Choice — as well as a previous JUNO Award nomination for Country Album of the Year. Making her mark, Porter became the first female artist to have three back-to-back #1 singles at Canadian Country radio in 22 years with “About You,” “These Days” and “Seeing Other People” in early 2020, following Shania Twain in 1998. Porter also earned her first crossover Top 10 at Canadian pop-radio — a first since 2003 for a Canadian female country artist — with "These Days (Remix)," and joined CMT’s elite sisterhood of tastemakers and trailblazers as one of their Next Women of Country class of 2021. The Pandora 2021 Country Artist to Watch has toured extensively on her own, also sharing stages with Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts, Chris Lane, Blake Shelton and Dallas Smith, and co-starred in the Netflix series, "Travelers."
