WORDS:
"The hottest new band on the planet. Three brothers with a penchant for doing things their own way, they're bringing rock 'n' roll to a new generation" - Rock Sound Magazine (cover feature)
"..the performance of the day from Palaye Royale... teetered thrillingly on the edge of chaos. The young Torontonians dressed up, rocked hard, threw guitars, fell over, rolled on the floor.... When Iggy Pop-style singer Remington Leith clambered atop the speaker stack, he caused a panic among security staff"
- The Guardian
“If you want theatrics, these boys deliver in spades – and not just in their headline-grabbing threads and eye-popping stage show.”
- Classic Rock Magazine
"Palaye Royale successfully rings in the old school sounds of bands like The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Velvet Underground, Iggy Pop and The New York Dolls without sounding cliché or gimmicky". - New Noise Magazine
"Indie with a little bit more of what you fancy.... Though their chiselled faces are destined to appear on posters on bedroom walls of many a teen, there’s substance beneath the surface". - Louder Sound
"Palaye Royale demonstrated that they are way more than their unique theatrical style and fashion that has had a cult like affect on their exploding fan base. They completely understand how to breathe new life into the old school sound of rock'n roll with a distinct edge. It is fascinating to watch such a young crowd enjoying the 1970's sound with a feeling of chaos with their thrilling stage show ". - NOW and THEN Magazine
BIOGRAPHY:
Rightfully christened as both “The Hottest Band of 2018” and simply “the” group of the year, by the English music press, Canadian fashion-rock trio PALAYE ROYALE is a shot of adrenaline into the modern musical landscape. Summoning a thrilling spirit, with throwback sonic crunch, visual flair, and reckless live performances, PALAYE ROYALE has quickly earned a legion of obsessive cult-like loyalists, lovingly dubbed Soldiers of the Royal Council.
PALAYE ROYALE draw as much inspiration from cinema and philosophy as they do from their musical muses, building a story with libertine reverence for Alan Watts and debauchery-fueled nights at the Chateau Marmont, for Johnny Thunders and The Stooges. This band is equally at home in the hallways of Los Angeles Fashion Week or climbing the lighting tresses at the Vans Warped Tour. They sold out theaters on their first-ever headlining tour and steal the show at each major festival.
Each member of PALAYE ROYALE doubles as musician and visionary. The Pirate, The Vampire, and The Gentleman inspire a level of devotion reserved for My Chemical Romance or Twenty One Pilots, as their deep fan connection crosses genre-divides.
Kerrang! declared the band to be “on the cusp of next-level stardom” and with good reason. PAYALE ROYALE went from support act on any tour that would have them to the cover of Rock Sound and Alternative Press. “Morning Light,” “Mr. Doctor Man,” “Get Higher,” “Don’t Feel Quite Right,” and “Ma Chérie” amassed 30 million YouTube views (and counting).
Boom Boom Room (Side A) paved the way for this year’s hotly- anticipated follow-up, Boom Boom Room (Side B), heralded by the arrival of the overnight smash lead single, “You’ll Be Fine.”
'You’ll Be Fine' is the first taste of the band’s forthcoming new album Boom Boom Room (Side B), details of which should be revealed in the coming weeks.
Addressing the important issues of mental health and freedom, the trio serve us a mind-bending experience in their latest clip for You’ll Be Fine. As the visuals distort and bend our perception, the gripping narrative mirrors the track perfectly, telling us the story from the perspective of a schizophrenic patient. With an electrifying soundscape and theatrical attributes, Palaye Royale once again balance on the verge of reality incorporating madness into their creative vision.
The band took advantage of a day off from their Warped Tour stint to drive a 1987 Rolls Royce Corniche II along the Agua Dulce in California, suffering through the 110 degree heat of the canyon roads to capture the perfect shots.
Frontman Remington Leith explains:
‘You’ll Be Fine’ is a step into the new world of Palaye Royale. Steaming from the live show atmosphere, we took the moments of aggression, violence and excitement by putting in all in one song. ‘You’ll Be Fine’ was written in the perspective of a schizophrenic patient (same patient as Mr. Dr Man talked about). In today’s society everyone around you will always say ‘it will be fine’. In this video we address the topics that people tend to not frequently talk about. Mental health and freedom within existence.
