"First Came Shania, Then Came Jess Moskaluke" establishing her place among the greats like Shania Twain, Michelle Wright, Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Patricia Conroy in Canadian country music. All eyes are on Jess Moskluke upon the heels of the announcements for this year's Juno nominations for 'Country Album of the Year' for "Kiss Me Quiet."
2017 JUNO Award nominee, Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®) Award™ Female Artist of the Year (consecutive wins in 2014, 2015 and 2016) and platinum-selling country artist Jess Moskaluke released her brand new single “Drive Me Away” to country music radio and digitally on February 14.
Moskaluke co-wrote this song with her producer Corey Crowder and Zach Abend (from Nashville) and the fans are loving it. It’s the perfect song at the right time for Jess Moskaluke. Her brand new single has her fans so excited with such an upbeat, addictive song - hitting right in the sweet spot for Canadian country radio. Fans are playing this song over and over again including MDM Recording artist David James - a song that is so much fun, fitting for exactly how Jess Moskaluke is feeling these days. Her hard work has certainly paid off in her singing career and it only looks better and better.
I had the chance to sit down with the new queen of country recently and she is on top of the world coming across as a seasoned vet, not a new country artist. What I love about Jess Moskaluke is how humble and grounded she is. She has her focus on hard work and exactly what it takes to get to the top and it shows. Jess's star is rising high and bright and her fans will be cheering for her to win her very first Juno on April 2nd in Ottawa.
“I am beyond thrilled to be nominated for a JUNO award this year! To be recognized along with all of these talented artists – many of whom I call my friends is both inspiring and a great honour,” Moskaluke said.
It’s her third nomination in three years.
Other Saskatchewan nominees include Andy Shauf who’s up for three awards and Kacy and Clayton for contemporary roots album of the year for their album “Strange Country.”
When asked about “Drive Me Away”, Jess Moskaluke says: “It's a song that just felt right for me. I can't explain why, i just knew it inside that it was the one". It's a super fun song reminding us that its cool to shake things up a little bit and break the routine. Life should be an adventure sometimes!”
So, if you want to “shake things up a little bit” and get your adventure on, take a listen, you’ll get plenty of inspiration.
